St. Augustine is a colorful and picturesque little (and old) town in Florida. Every visit is an experience in beauty. These are photos of what caught my eye on one of those days.
Great shots, a couple would be really great in black and white with use of the channel mixer or dodging and burning.
I’m going to play with the black and white idea for some of these; though (forgive my ignorance) I don’t know what “channel mixer” or “dodging and burning” are. I’ll have to look it up. Thanks for the comment and suggestion.
channel mixing can be done on photo editing software such as Photoshop CS5. What channel mixing allows you to do is to adjust the tonality of the various colors in the original image.
Dodging and burning comes from film processing used to brighten or darken parts of the image. This also can be done in programs such as Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CS5 or Lightroom.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain. I appreciate it.
very peaceful and beautiful.
Love the Mission…At least I’m thinking it’s a mission? Beautiful photos.
The 2nd photo is the Prince of Peace Church, built in 1965 to commemorate the Mission of Nombre de Dios’ (name of God) 400th anniversary. The 6th photo is the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche (of the milk) located in the Mission’s grounds. There’s so much history in St. Augustine 🙂 Thanks for your comment.
